It is important that Animal Welfare and Conservation remain the primary focus – ensuring that the Frog Beauty Contest complies with any and all applicable Wildlife and Animal Welfare Laws.

1. Contestant Frog ’s Welfare

Proposed Rules

1. No Contestant Frog may be harmed or stressed for competition purposes
2. No dyes – paints – glitter – nor cosmetics may be applied to the Contestant Frog
3. No adhesives nor decorations may be attached to the Contestant Frog
4. Natural appearance only is permitted for the Contestant Frog
5. Adequate moisture must be maintained at all times for the Contestant Frog
6. Proper species-specific temperatures must be provided for the Contestant Frog
7. Fresh dechlorinated water must be available at all times for the Contestant Frog
8. Contestant Frog showing signs of illness will be disqualified
9. Sick or injured Contestant Frog may not compete
10. Veterinary treatment always takes priority over competition
11. Handling of Contestant Frog should be minimized

Hands must be clean and free of chemicals before handling Contestant Frog

 

2. General Rules

13. Biosecurity

1. Contestant Frog must not share water
2. Contestant Frog Equipment should be disinfected between entries
3. Separate Contestant Frog containers should be used for each Contestant Frog
4. Any suspected Contestant Frog contagious disease must be reported immediately
5. Organizers may refuse a Contestant Frog entry to protect other Contestant Frog/Animals

All Contestant Frog Owners must local/regional amphibian disease prevention guidelines.

 

14. Tie-Breakers

2, If still tied – highest natural Contestant Frog appearance score wins

3, If still tied – Contestant Frog Judges deliberate in private
