- Give a final brush of your dog’s coat
- Wipe your show dog’s eyes, mouth and paws
- Final coat check – no mating, no loose debris from the room floor
- If appropriate use approved light grooming products

4, After Your Show Ring Class Results
Exiting Respectfully
Make a respectful/classy exit – regardless of your show dog’s placement.
- Reward your show dog – trat and petting
- Gracefully congratulate the winner
- Respectfully acknowledge the other handlers for their effort
- Acknowledge the audience if they applaud your effort
- Thank the judges – respect their choice – they may judge you more times in your handling/dog show career

- Common Mistakes to Avoid
Plan your day for being punctual and prepared for your best effort.
- Do not be late
- Do not miss your class judging – there is no second chance
- Do not get excited as the handler and over-groom, over-handle over-fuss – your show dog will become ill at ease
- Never block the judge’s view of your show dog
- Never be a poor sports person – arguing, complaining, bitching upsetting others and their show dogs – you may never be asked back
